Covid Cleaning - keeping you safe

Covid cleaning accreditation from landlord’s little helper
Barend’s cleaning is accredited by Landlord’s Little Helper

Covid Cleaning Procedure

At Barend Holiday Lodges we take cleaning seriously, so we’ve drawn up a specific Covid Cleaning Procedure. You can relax and enjoy your holiday, in the knowledge your lodge has been professionally disinfected. Our procedure ensures your lodge has been cleaned to the highest standard and you are safe here.
Briefly, it defines how the lodge is thoroughly cleaned, then disinfected and checked. This is all in line with government-approved processes.

Cleaning products and team

Unlike other self-catering accommodation, we have our own cleaning and maintenance team. This enables us to closely monitor the cleaning and use professional-level cleaning products.
Our team will be provided with appropriate PPE; colour-coded cloths and gloves to designate the correct room and prevent cross-contamination. Tabards, wet bags and shoe covers will prevent cross-contamination between lodges. Clear procedures, training and checklists will ensure cleaning and disinfection is undertaken to a high standard.
Every lodge has it’s own HEPA-filter vacuum cleaner. (Moreover, these are left in lodges, along with other cleaning products and disinfectants, if you would like to clean during your stay).
Importantly, our viral disinfectants clean to log-5 rather than log-3 (which is what most domestic level disinfectants from supermarkets clean to). This means if a million particles were present pre-clean, with log-3 1000 particles would remain post-clean. With log-5 only 10 particles would remain post-clean.

Training

Our Directors have undertaken training with the Association of Scottish Self-Caterers. The ASSC has aligned with the Landlord’s Little Helper to put in place a full training and accreditation scheme, which we have undertaken. Over the coming weeks all our staff will complete the same training.
