Cycling Holidays in Scotland

With the Gralloch acting as a UCI qualifier in 2024, this propelled our area to the forefront of gravel riding. From Barend you can access great gravel rides in Dalbeattie directly by bike. Or join in The Big Onion, an annual sportive each June that starts just a few miles away.

The 7Stanes are world-famous custom made mountain biking routes. Featuring excellent rides for beginners through to hard core cross country and downhill cyclists, we are very lucky to have 2 (Dalbeattie and Mabie) right on our doorstep. Kirroughtree and Ae are easy days out from Barend.

If road cycling is more your thing, the country roads around Dumfries and Galloway await! We were lucky enough to host teams for the 2023 National Road and Time Trial Championships (remember Cav winning his national stripes in Castle Douglas?) and a cycle round the area will show you why Dumfries and Galloway was picked.

Riding over the moors and enjoying the rolling countryside is one of our favourite evening jaunts. This year we are working on pulling some of our favourite routes together on strava. Whether you just fancy a few miles to stretch your legs, a ride out to a cafe or a serious day in the saddle, we’re happy to help with suggestions. As keen cyclists ourselves, we love nothing more than sharing our favourite rides!
