Barend Holiday Lodges is run by husband and wife team, Duncan and Sarah. We have two children (at primary and secondary school), so we know from experience what is handy when you go on a self-catering holiday. We’ve used this knowledge to bring you everything you need when you come on holiday with us!
Keeping the wee ones entertained
Barend Holiday Village is the perfect base to entertain a family. Most lodges have books, games, and DVDs or Smart TVs, and all Barend Holiday Lodges guests can use the onsite swimming pool, which is free. You can book private use of the pool, which is great for wee ones just getting water confident. Or join our group swim sessions, perfect for making new friends!
Sandyhills is a lovely beach, just a 5-10 minute walk away, fantastic for building sandcastles and taking a dip in the sea. Further afield, there are numerous softplay centres, farm parks, castles child-friendly museums and parks.
There’s everything from pottery painting in Kirkcudbright, to sailing and outdoor adventures at Loch Ken. These have proven very popular with our teenager and youngster alike!
